Trump Cheers as Nebraska Gov. Mulls Electoral Change

Donald Trump praised Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen for supporting a “winner take all” system for the state’s Electoral College votes, a switch that could help the former president gain an extra electoral vote in the November election.

State legislators introduced a bill to implement the winner-take-all system in January, which Pillen, a Republican, endorsed Tuesday, saying it “would bring Nebraska into line with 48 of our fellow states, better reflect the founders’ intent, and ensure our state speaks with one unified voice in presidential elections,” The Hill reported.

Trump, writing on Truth Social, thanked Pillen, who he said is “a very smart and popular governor, who has done some really great things,” for his “bold leadership…  in support of returning Nebraska’s Electoral Votes to a Winner-Take-All System.”
