The United States and Britain are positioned to lead the next wave of global innovation through artificial intelligence and robotics, John Browne, a former member of Parliament, told Newsmax on Sunday.
“The next revolution after the agricultural and two industrial revolutions and then the technological revolution is the AI and robotic revolution, and it is going to be unbelievable, even compared to the other revolutions,” Browne said on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America Weekend.” “America and Britain are determined to lead that, as we did the agricultural and industrial revolutions. And this will do it, in my view.”
Browne emphasized that privately generated energy will be central to powering advances in AI and quantum computing.
“The extraordinary thing now for both countries was the private generation of electricity, the key ingredient for the AI revolution and quantum computing. And so I thought it was basically an establishment of leadership in the new world of AI,” he said.
Turning to President Donald Trump’s recent state visit to Britain, Browne highlighted the symbolism of renewing the “special relationship” between the two countries.
“Well, it’s a special relationship,” he said. “We have the same heritage, the same language, the same beliefs, and the same legal system, basically. We’ve stood together in World War II, shoulder to shoulder, and in the Cold War to stem communism.”
Browne added that former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden, along with former Vice President Kamala Harris, “actively sought to erode this relationship. And so it needed repair.”
He praised both Trump and Prime Minister Keir Starmer for recognizing the need to restore ties, pointing to the ceremonial events as a historic moment.
“The British laid on a very significant double header for a state visit, the first in history, and it was a great success,” he said. “I was particularly moved by the royal banquets at Windsor Castle and the beautiful, beautiful toast that Donald Trump gave to this relationship, where he said each verse is part of the same song. We sing a verse, you sing a verse. It was such a beautiful, beautiful commemoration of a many-centuries-long relationship.”
