Pastor Jim Harden, CEO of CompassCare, told Newsmax on Sunday that slain conservative leader Charlie Kirk’s enduring faith was the foundation of his moral and political life, and gave him the courage to stand firm through trial and persecution.
“Well, Charlie, yeah, as has been said, was first and foremost a Christian. His faith was definitely on display for all. That motivated him and informed basically all of his moral and political positions,” Harden said on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America Weekend.”
Harden recalled that Kirk was quick to stand by CompassCare after its Buffalo medical office was firebombed for its pro-life stance.
“He was one of the first ones out of the gate when we were first firebombed,” he said. “Charlie was one of the first ones out of the gate, as I said, to have me on his show a couple of different times and talk through what this actually means.”
Harden described the attacks as part of a broader spiritual battle.
“This is Christian persecution,” he said. “This is a shot across the bow of the church, and this is a moment where the church needs to wake up, because, and as I’ve been saying since Charlie was assassinated, this is not an isolated incident. This is the most recent in the long line of attacks on Christian people.”

Harden emphasized that Kirk’s legacy is one of courage in the face of hostility.
“We have to stand strong. We have to be courageous,” Harden stressed. “I think one of the most important things that we saw from Charlie was his courage, his endurance in the face of trial and tribulation.”
